Music Fundamentals! with "Introduction to Piano"

A Young Child student explores many facets of music - speaking, singing, moving, listening, creating, playing instruments, and learning about reading and writing music. Creative movement or dances are combined with music fundamentals, plus our exclusive addition of "Keyboard Components." The curriculum introduces the glockenspiel, a pre-keyboard instrument, and string and woodwind instruments such as the dulcimer and recorder. Young Child is the perfect pressure-free preparation for formal instruction in piano, violin, or voice.

Spring 2012:
Kindermusik for the Young Child - Semester 2

While learning to sing a melody, and then play the pattern on the glockenspiel, we'll delve deeper into the understanding of musical concepts such as piano and forte. Music appreciation and understanding continues with a complete introduction to the instrument families in the orchestra.

Kindermusik for the Young Child - Semester 4
Graduation is almost here! We'll introduce simple melodic patterns and songs on the recorder. With a special multi-cultural emphasis, your child will learn to improvide and write music, as well as experience the musical styles of the Pacific Islands, Europe, Bach, and Africa. Plus, we'll play children's games and dances from the Alps, Mexico, and Ecuador.

Home Materials include:
Purple Carry Bag (new students only), Folder, Activity Pages and stickers, Weekly Music at Home Cards, Games Bag and manipulatives, Family Songbook and Home CD
